Our Mission
The goal of Haven Retreats is to create sustainability in foster care and adoption.
We believe that by supporting the caregivers, we are providing direct stability to the children in the home.
We offer therapeutic retreats and wrap- around care for the caregivers of foster and adoptive children.

“I believe that there is water in the desert - and it’s available for everybody. Haven is water in the desert for foster and adoptive caregivers.”
— Rebecca Harvin, Founder
Our Weekends
We currently offer four separate weekends retreats for foster and adoptive families: moms, dads, couples, and biological children.
Each retreat will have licensed therapists for group and individual sessions, plenty of good food, and a skeleton outline that participants can choose to partake in or opt out in favor of rest.
Our Beginnings
A year and a half into her journey as a foster mom, feeling overwhelmed by the struggles inside her home, and wanting to run away Rebecca Harvin was faced with a decision to make: quit foster care or figure out how to make it sustainable. She began to dream of a space where foster and adoptive parents could find true rest, receive therapy for their own triggers, spend time in quiet meditation, and eat really good food. The goal would be holistic rest: body, mind, and spirit. Dreams became a reality in the fall of 2019 when Haven Retreats, Inc. hosted its first Haven Moms retreat.
Meet the Team
-
Rebecca Harvin
FOUNDER + EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Rebecca Harvin is the founder and Executive Director of Haven. Rebecca, and her husband Brad, began fostering in 2017 and in July of 2022, they adopted a sibling set of four. They also have 2 biological children. Haven Retreats was born from a season of caregiver burnout and the assumption that if she needs a space for rest, therapy and Jesus... other people probably do too.
As an Enneagram 7, Rebecca loves adventure, traveling, spontaneity and engaging the world around her with humor and a positive outlook.
